How to celebrate World Bamboo Day
The Cheeky Panda | 17 Sept, 2020
In case you didn’t know… the 18th September is World Bamboo Day!
Now, it may seem like just ‘another day’ in the calendar that you shouldn’t really care about. But this isn’t International Talk Like a Pirate Day (yes that’s real) or National Lost Sock Memorial Day (yes that’s real, too).
It's a day to celebrate all things Bamboo, the miracle plant that has given The Cheeky Panda the chance to create ultra-sustainable, eco-friendly products for the world to enjoy, while reducing carbon emissions and helping the planet at the same time.
But what’s the best way to celebrate this momentous, joyous day? Well, as chief Bamboo experts, we can tell you. If you follow these steps, you’ll be our best Bamboo buddies for life!
The best way to support the growth and development of Bamboo as a resource is to buy the products! Bamboo is a rapidly growing plant which gives off 65% less carbon emissions than traditional resources, meaning it’s super sustainable.
The Cheeky Panda, and other sustainability-lead companies, need your support to continue developing helpful products made from this really incredible material. That way, we can all contribute to reducing the carbon footprint by purchasing planet-friendly products.
Switching to Bamboo-based products isn’t as scary as you think. Once you’ve made the switch you’ll wonder why you ever used anything else! Plus, you’ll feel a whole lot better, and the planet will love you. That’s some good karma right there.
Like, Share and Follow
Another excellent way you can support Bamboo suppliers, sellers and supporters is following them on your social media channels.
This is also a great way to spread the world, by liking and sharing those who are in support of World Bamboo Day, you’re helping others understand why we celebrate.
Social media is a powerful tool, and while a lot of it is selfies and FOMO, we can also use it to spread amazing messages and help reach our sustainability goals, creating a brighter future.
Join people from around the world sharing their passion for Bamboo. From the US to India, to the Philippines, to Indonesia, to Japan, to Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Uruguay, Brazil, Ecuador, Chile, to the Democratic Republic of Congo to Spain and Paris, and end in Taiwan, hear about the positive impacts of bamboo projects from the people who are making them happen!
Shake your Bamboo-ty!
Dance like you’re a Bamboo forest swaying in the breeze. Like a panda with a passion for pop music. Don’t be rigid like a tree, be flexible like Bamboo.
Show us your toilet roll tango and loo roll rumba! We should be proud to show our love for such an incredible eco plant.
There’s no better way to recognise World Bamboo Day!
If you couldn’t tell already, we love Bamboo. It makes us feel happy and warm inside, because it’s the best!
We hope this World Bamboo Day that you take the opportunity to appreciate this amazing Asian plant for what it is!
