Living a sustainable lifestyle means that your decisions are being made with the environment in mind. We all know by now that we are in a climate crisis and that there are small changes that we can be making individually that will make a big difference. Here are 5 changes that you could make to live a more sustainable lifestyle.

Reduce plastic consumption

Reducing your plastic consumption is a great way to do better for the planet. Everyday plastic is harming our environment and polluting the ocean, so being able to live without it as much as you possibly can, will make a difference.

Change mode of transport

Think about the way you travel - is it possible for you to take public transport? Walk? Bike? You could even organise to carpool with others if they are on route. We must try our hardest to reduce transport emissions and the number of vehicles on the road.

Reduce meat and dairy consumption

There are so many reasons to reduce the amount of meat and dairy you eat. Not only is consuming animal products bad for your health but also has a hugely negative impact on the environment. Animal agriculture is one of the top polluters in the world and needs to be reduced a huge amount to make any sort of positive change.

Try going low-waste

Going low-waste is a brilliant way to live a sustainable lifestyle. The term low-waste refers to thinking about the amount you throw away and how you can reduce it. This could be items in the kitchen such as swapping out cling film for a wax wrap or getting reusable kitchen towels. In the bathroom swap your plastic toothbrush for a bamboo one.

Quit shopping fast fashion

Fast fashion refers to companies that churn out millions of pieces of clothing to keep up with the ever-changing fashion trends. Think of stores that you would find on the high street or in shopping malls. This industry is a huge polluter due to fabric waste and dyes getting into our waterways. Shop with intention, second-hand or sustainable businesses.
